The Staff Assistant provides secretarial, clerical, and general office support services to the Assistant Directors for Pastoral Care of Migrants, Refugees and Travelers, and Asian and Pacific Island Affairs, and as needed, to the Executive Director and other staff members of the Secretariat of Cultural Diversity in the Church, to enable effective office operations as they implement programs and projects of the Standing Committee and its various sub-committees, and promote the bishops' strategic plan for the Conference. The Administrative Assistant collaborates with other support staff members in carrying out similar job responsibilities and demonstrates a willingness and ability to understand, respect, and contribute to the USCCB mission and its Catholic identity.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Identifies, collects, produces, and/or updates printed and e-resources such as brochures for API and PCMRT Apostolates. Supports preparation of API, PCMRT, and Stella Maris Newsletters Updates Webpage and Access Database. Assists in preparing information packets and documentation for bishops' committee meetings and national gatherings hosted or sponsored by the office.

Interact with the API and PCMRT network of pastoral leaders, including ethnic ministry advisers. Assists in communicating and reaching out to Dioceses with API and PCMRT ministries and national Catholic organizations to help expand the Cultural Diversity networks.

Aids in developing databases, materials, and other communications related to API and PCMRT. Coordinate logistics and materials needed for API and PCMRT national events. Assists in outreach to dioceses with API and PCMRT ministries. Answers query from and encourage engagement of API and PCMRT leaders and diocesan coordinators with ministry to API and PCMRT family. Handles calls, emails, and requests for information, as required. Drafts and/or responds to correspondence as needed. Helps with travel arrangements of assistant directors and subcommittee consultants. Provide any other support as required and assigned. Bookkeeping responsibilities

Education Level: Associate degree or the equivalent of 2 years of college courses Major Field/Specialty: Communications, English, Pastoral ministry, Graphic Design, and Marketing

Foreign Language Requirement: Fluency or working knowledge of a relevant second language is a plus but not required. Spanish helpful.
