Senior director role providing leadership to the programming finance team in accurately generating and recording monthly costs and leading the budgeting/forecasting of Programming expense for all companies under the Astound Broadband umbrella. Additionally, this position will manage programming operations, with responsibility for ensuring contract compliance as well as coordinating new channel launches, repositioning, etc. This is a high profile position that will be charged with articulating video content issues and setting direction across disparate teams and geographies, and serve as one of the faces of Astound externally to our video content partners. Position will directly report the SVP of Finance with dotted line responsibilities in support of the Chief Administrative Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and direction for the programming group and assist in guiding the strategic direction of the company's video business as well as perform tasks necessary to complete the following :
Managing the monthly close process, including calculation of monthly programming liabilities using MDS programming system, recording of monthly programming and set-top box expenses and liabilities within the general ledger and associated balance sheet reconciliations and monthly subscriber reporting to NCTC and other programmers.
Business case analysis and what-if scenarios related to programming contracts, video tiers, customized lineups, promotions, etc.
Monthly variance analysis and review of programming costs with business managers in each market.
Lead point person for programmer audits and annual review and recalculation of audit claims and assist in negotiations between Astound and programmers on audit settlements.
Account analysis and monthly entries related to audit reserves.
Point person in relationship with NCTC. Responsible for contract compliance, channel launches and repositions through NCTC programmers.
Hold bi-weekly programming / marketing calls for strategic planning and channel lineup changes / launches / repositions.
Monthly forecasting and annual budgeting of programming costs for all markets.
Ongoing programming contract analysis as needed including penetration requirements and promotion reporting internally and externally to programmers.
Assist in contract review / negotiation points as needed.
Provide management and leadership to direct reports.

Education: BA / BS Degree
8 + years of Accounting / Finance Experience
Prior experience with programming accounting / finance role in Cable industry preferred
3 + years of prior management / leadership experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent working knowledge and skills with Hyperion and MS Office Applications - specifically EXCEL, Access, Word, PowerPoint.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong financial presentation skills
Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
