Are you commutable to Basildon, Essex and looking for a new opportunity within special education? We are working with a fantastic school & sixth form in Basildon, Essex who are looking to build their team of positive, resilient and motivated SEN Teaching Assistants. The school cater for pupils aged 5-19 with a wide range of complex needs, these include autism and communication difficulties. You will ensure classrooms are ready for lessons, helping those who need extra support with tasks, and creating a happy learning environment. It will be your priority to ensure all children are safe and content during the day. You will need to be confident to get involved with class discussions and learning activities, as well as being creative. You must be able to communicate effectively and be able to provide effective feedback to the class teacher on pupil progress. The school provide a personalised approach to learning, motivating the pupil's to use their individual skills, interests and talents. All pupils will be given the skills for independent living and employment in adulthood. Direct experience within a school setting isn't compulsory. If you have great knowledge and understanding of SEN due to having family members with complex needs or autism, you may be a great candidate. You may also excel in this role if you come from a care background/support work. Be open to learning new skills everyday. Establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the school. Encourage independence and personal development in pupils and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times. Contribute to providing high quality, challenging and differentiated educational activities and experiences through supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum aiming at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning. To promote pupils cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and spiritual well-being.
