Lead Teacher Cheadle Staffordshire SEMH School Starting as soon as possible full time Simply Education is currently working with a SEMH School that supports young people between the ages of - 8-16 years. They are looking to appoint a Primary Teacher who can educate pupils with additional needs ADHD and social and emotional needs. The school follows a very mainstream approach so anyone with a mainstream background they would love to hear from. Class sizes are between 6-7 pupils, and you will be supported with two teaching assistants. The school has a great leadership team who are on hand to support and guide you in your role if needed. This would be a temporary to permanent position after 3 months. As a Primary Teacher you will be responsible for delivering a high quality of teaching and learning to a group of students aged 8-16 years with SEMH in primary. Students at this school are looking for someone who is nurturing and can adapt their teaching style to meet the needs of the pupils. Your main focus will be on increasing academic knowledge, whilst achieving independent living skills that will equip young people for the next stage in their lives. Key duties: - Contribute to the delivery and development of the Primary curriculum. - Work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team. - Maintain and use short, medium and long term plans in delivering the Primary curriculum. - Set, monitor and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each individual. - Contribute to the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP and LAC reviews. - Provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation and challenge. Qualities Required for the Primary Teacher Position - Essential: PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification or evidence of in-service training - To be able to teach or willing to teach Primary. - Ability to work as part of team. - Good teaching and communication skills, both written and verbal. - Effective skills in planning, preparation, recording and reviewing students progress. - Good IT skills and understand of how IT can be used to support learning. - Ability to engage students in positive enabling relationships.
