This individual must have the appropriate health & safety qualifications as well as demonstrable experience in a related field such as construction, utilities, civil engineering and M&E. Our client is one of the UK s leading specialist contractors, renowned for providing technically advanced and cost-effective solutions across the renewable energy, infrastructure and water efficiency sectors. Due to the recent award of a number of significant projects, and a dedication to continued profitable, ambitious and long-term growth across the UK, our client is now seeking to appoint a Health & Safety Manager. The Role Create and implement policies and procedures regarding health and safety procedures, and ensure that these comply with the appropriate regulations and legislation Conduct risk assessments, highlighting the areas of potential risk that must be reduced Train all employees in health and safety procedures Conduct frequent safety inspections and checks, including hazardous equipment and working at height etc Make all employees aware of the benefits of PPE, and ensure that they receive adequate training, along with conducting frequent checks for wear and tear etc Develop procedures for reporting accidents, including making all employees aware of the correct procedures to follow Respond to any safety complaints and concerns raised by employees, investigating any claims and put plans in place accordingly Take responsibility for first aid procedures, including employee training Manage emergency procedures Carry out periodic H&S audits at all offices and site locations Ensure understanding of the company s quality and environmental management systems, and work according to their requirements Be aware of the environmental aspects and impacts relevant to your work, and ensure compliance with any applicable legislation Ensure all activities are GDPR compliant The Person Appropriate qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH etc) and demonstrable experience as a H&S Manager in a related field (construction, utilities, civil engineering, M&E etc) Must possess knowledge of company, industry and health and safety laws Must be able to assess potential hazards and act safely and quickly in the event of an incident Extensive attention to detail to distinguish safety hazards Ability to provide detailed reports and develop safety procedures Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Manage and prioritise a demanding and varying workload Ability to interact sensitively with others Pro-active, self-motivated, and able to work alone and as part of a team to achieve common objectives A valid driving licence An attractive basic salary (permanent) and an extensive benefits package is on offer to the successful candidate, along with longevity, progression and security of work, given the company s market leading status in this sector, and their dedication to continued and ambitious growth
