Air Logistics - Gateway & Procurement Specialist Manchester GB14044 We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our Air Logistics- Gateway and Procurement team at Manchester as an Air Logistics- Gateway and Procurement Specialist. YOUR ROLE You will be responsible for coordinating transport activities by executing the necessary bookings with our partners and gateways, executing the requisite data entry associated with transport document generation, generating the required documentation, and liaising with our customer care specialists to ensure specific requirements are met (Transit Times, Carrier selection, Routings etc.). Manage the coordination of customer shipments by securing buy rates (when required) as well as capacity with qualified carriers/partners and or via the KN gateways. All of these activities are performed in compliance with rules and regulations governing air transport, associated national protocols, and executed via KN operational systems. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate and align customer deliverables with customer care teams, partners and suppliers to manage the transportation of customer's cargo. Capacity procurement and rate negotiation on scheduled flights with our partners. Produce and prepare documents for transit of cargo, ensure customs declarations, security checks are complete and issue check certificates. You will also follow standard operating procedures (SOP's), create accurate accruals, recover compromised route plans, negotiate spot rates, increase or decrease allocations, optimise processes and support safe unit load device (ULD) builds and manage ULD equipment. Produce and prepare all relevant documents for the transit of cargo and close any outstanding custom requirements. Manage operational tasks through Business Process Automation tools (BPA) and all related features. Immediately report problems, operational disputes or discrepancies to your team leader. Monitor operational performance of carriers and other vendors and escalate / create awareness if performance and commitments are not being delivered. Initiate and resolve any rate or performance discrepancies.YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES Experience in either freight forwarding or transport planning with key focus on airfreight. Ability to understand and execute new processes. Experience of governance and control in relation to Dangerous Goods, Customs and Aviation Security. You will have a good understanding of Aircraft types and configurations, routings and equipment experience. Understanding of unit load device (ULD) builds. Strong affinity with required customer quality standards. Good IT skills specifically Microsoft office packages. Ability to communicate effectively and strong problem solving skills.
